Foreign trade zones can help companies with cash flow
Foreign trade zones offer companies located within their borders the ability to defer, reduce or even eliminate U.S. Customs duties on products admitted to the zone. Foreign trade zones are considered to be outside of U.S. Customs territory. Under FTZ procedures, foreign and domestic merchandise may be admitted into these zones for operations such as storage, exhibition, assembly, manufacturing and processing without being subject to formal customs entry procedures, the payment of duties or the payment of federal excise taxes.
